5 Tips for Photo Day
Get your bookmark ready! We’re here to give you some of our best tips towards photo day. Now you (and your child) will have the most amazing portrait that focuses on their amazing personality! And here we go…
Tip #1: Wear solid color tops or subtle prints. We want your child to be the focus of the photos and not their shirt. Rich earth and jewel colors or neutrals are always best. Tops with characters and letters can be distracting. Bright neon colors can also cause a color cast on skin tones.
Tip #2: Let your kid be a kid! Smiles will look fake if they are practiced ahead of time. We want your child’s personality to shine. We aim to capture your child with authentic and genuine expressions. There are no forced smiles when we’re around!
Tip #3: Include your child in picking out their photo day outfit. Your child will feel confident and happy in an outfit they love. Don’t make them wear anything they don’t like or feel comfortable in.
Tip #4: Your child should wear clothes that fit them well. If their clothes are baggy (or you sized them up for the next growth spurt) it will be a distraction in their photos. You should also avoid hoodies as they are big and bulky.
Tip #5: Be positive and uplifting. Send your child out the door with lots of hugs and a good corny kid joke. Try the one below!
“Why are giraffes’ necks so long?”
Because they have really smelly feet!
